Toblerone: Goodness
Associated Press (NY): In 1867, Jean Tobler opened "Confiserie Spéciale" in the Länggass quarter in Bern, Switzerland; thus began the grand tradition of chocolately delights associated with the Toblerone name. In 1899, due to overwhelming demand for his devilish confections, Tobler founded the "Fabrique de Chocolat Berne, Tobler & Cie," his very own chocolate factory. Nine years later, he reached the pinnacle of chocolateness, formulating the recipe for Toblerone brand, which "with its special recipe, triangular shape and unmistakable TOBLERONE logo, [became] the Swiss chocolate par excellence." The rest, as the old adage goes, is history.
