Good News for People with Brains

Ralph Nader announced his candidacy for president of the United States on Meet the Press today, providing the 2008 election with its only real liberal choice. In his statement, he said: "Dissent is the mother of ascent, and in that context I've decided to run for president." Furthermore, he called for a "Jeffersonian revolution" to combat the "paralysis of the government." Of course, not all are happy about the announcement. Sure, everybody knows that Clinton & McCain are corporate hacks, bought & paid for by lobbyists, but who knew what a douche bag Mr. Change was. Mr. Change dismissively said of Nader: "He seems to have a pretty high opinion of his own work." Good work, Mr. Change. There is nothing like bad-mouthing an independent candidate working in contradistinction to the hegemonic reign of the 2-party system. Is this how you will respond to all marginalized viewpoints?
